The June Summer Challenge is themed around balancing doing and being. The summer can be a busy time which is so great! And we also need to bring in the down time so our body and mind have time to reset. Just as we train our muscles to get stronger, we also have to train our mind and nervous system to relax.

Many people feel like they are not worthy or valuable when they are not "doing" something all of the time. But it is in the stillness where our bodies actually "do" their best healing. And with the constant stimulation in the world, it is important to give ourselves space and time to reset the nervous system numerous times each day so it doesn't end up moving into chronic stress. Chronic stress can cause digestion issues, poor sleep, heart issues, hormone imbalance, increased anxiety and depression, chronic fatigue and burnout (this coming from experience).  
The body is a healer and the most powerful healing happens in the stillness. What the mind may see as “doing nothing,” the body experiences as restoring, recalibrating and healing...so there is actually always something happening in what might be perceived as nothing!

This challenge can also help with accountability and implementing consistent self-care where results can be experienced quickly with a steady routine. Experience feeling strong and energized while also staying grounded and replenished throughout a busy summer season.

The classes offer a balanced weekly routine so that the body and mind receive replenishment and also enough challenge so that they can actually settle easier into relaxation and rest. It is true that the body can rest better when it has had enough challenge and movement!

We meet online 3x/week with a balanced mix of strength, mobility, recovery, intentional relaxation and nervous system support:

 Inspired Mondays @ 9:30am (60min)
Activated Alignment Yoga for improved stability and strength and joint health

Balanced Wednesdays @ 9:30am (60min)
Weights & Yoga to support bone density, lean muscle and recovery

Connected Fridays @ 9:30am (60min)
Stretch & Soundbath to calm the mind, relax the body and reset the nervous system

In a world of constant stimulation, we need intentional white space...time to pause, breathe, and simply be. After all, we are human beings, not human doings!
And from the "being" in our lives, our "doing" becomes more focused, grounded and balanced.

Class Descriptions are: 
Mondays @ 9:30am: Activated Alignment Yoga Class
Muscles move us. Our skeleton holds us up. Our fascia holds us together! Fascia isn’t just tissue - it's a sensory network that allows your body to feel itself and organize your daily activities so they take on a cumulative nutritious effect. Over time, your fascia becomes a record of how you have lived in your body.
If you have been dealing with a nagging issue for a long time it means it has "baked" itself into your fascia. Which means that permanent healing and recovery requires a sustained and consistent approach while that fascia is re-organized. So we are working with that approach in this class! This class uses fascial activation in yoga poses to improve:
- strength
-  functional flexibility
-  mind-body coordination & connection
- nervous system health
- joint strength & stability
- tissue healing

Wednesdays @ 9:30am: Weights & Yoga
This class builds strength, lean body mass and bone density by using free weights. We cover the whole body with different weight training exercises in each class. In the second half of the class we use yoga to support recovery and repair, decreasing muscle stiffness and soreness.

Fridays @ 9:30am: Restorative Yoga & Soundbath for Nervous System Support
This class is a grounding reset for the nervous system. It includes poses to open and relax the body. It finishes with a vibrational healing soundbath to support and balance your energy.

Navigate Your Way: A Conversation on Hormones, Food & Your Nervous System
