Winter/Spring Session 2018: New classes, snowshoeing, sleigh rides, trauma sensitive yoga workshop & oliv tasting room is coming to the studio! 

Hello everyone! Happy New Year!

I read something very moving that I wanted to share with you. Life is so very precious. And when we are faced with life changing circumstances, it changes us from the inside out. This woman wrote a letter that is a great reminder to not sweat the small stuff. And how our health & life is such an incredible gift.

Holly Butcher, 27, died from Ewing’s sarcoma and left behind a letter which she asked her family to post on her Facebook account after her death, according to News.com.au. Butcher wrote about enjoying life to the fullest and talked frankly about her mortality as well as the things she wished she had more time to do, like raise her own family.

“It’s a strange thing to realize and accept your mortality at 26 years young,” she wrote. “It’s just one of those things you ignore. The days tick by and you just expect they will keep on coming; until the unexpected happens.”

“That’s the thing about life,” she continued. “It is fragile, precious and unpredictable and each day is a gift, not a given right. I’m 27 now. I don’t want to go.”

“Be grateful for each day you don’t have pain and even the days where you are unwell with man flu, a sore back or a sprained ankle, accept it is s— but be thankful it isn’t life threatening and will go away,” she wrote. “Whine less, people! .. And help each other more.”

“You might have got caught in bad traffic today, or had a bad sleep because your beautiful babies kept you awake, or your hairdresser cut your hair too short,” she wrote. “Your new fake nails might have got a chip, your boobs are too small, or you have cellulite on your arse and your belly is wobbling.”

“Let all that s— go,” she urged. “I swear you will not be thinking of those things when it is your turn to go.”

She offered a reminder to not spend time thinking about small issues, but to focus on experiencing moments with family and friends.

Her letter really put things into perspective for me. And recently, with our own family emergency, I see even more clearly the beauty of each day given to me & the time with those I love. For me, this new year is all about enjoying the little things (that are actually big things!) & spending time with family & friends. 

Thank you to the studio family for all the constant love & support, during good times and hard times. There are so many of you that have been through so much and I am so in awe of your strength & kindness & feel very lucky to know you.

Sunrise Flow & Weights Fusion: Tuesdays @ 6:30am
Start your day with self care first! Experience what this class will do for you. Enjoy more energy through your day from a class full of breath & movement. Improve your cardiovascular health & balance & increase strength. At the end of class enjoy some bliss out time with a soothing lemongrass towel to help rejuvenate & refresh your body & mind after your practice! If you have to head to work right after class, there are showers available for your convenience!

Step & Strength Fitness Class: Wednesdays @ 7pm
Maximize your workout time with a low to moderate intensity cardio step class. This is a low impact choreographed cardio class to challenge your coordination and stamina through a traditional step workout. Suitable for all fitness levels.

Relax & Restore Healing Hour with Essential Oils: Fridays @ 11am
Tired? Wired? Come relax & reset. Perhaps your pace of life or pace of thought has been so high for so long, you’ve forgotten how to truly rest. Not how to sleep – how to rest. Discover the transformative power of supported relaxation in this class. Through yin & restorative yoga postures, gentle breathing exercises, guided mindfulness & essential oils used specifically for relaxation, you’ll fall to a new depth of peace and letting go. Learning how to relax in this way teaches us how to relax in more challenging circumstances, developing a true and restful resilience.

Kids Yoga, Games & Crafts: Mondays @ 7pm & Saturdays @ 2pm

Looking or a fitness class that will challenge you in new ways? You've found it! Utilizing the TRX suspension training system and strength training, you will be challenged with a mixture of cardio and resistance training. This class is suitable for all fitness levels from beginner to advanced. Low impact options are available for those with injuries and other limitations.

Lean & Strong Weight Training with Jasmin on Tuesdays @ 7:30pm (45min)
This class will teach you basic alignment and correct form for lifting free weights. There will be a different focus each class on working specific muscle groups (back & biceps, legs, etc).
